Kalkan is a little hidden gem – an upmarket destination with great charm and untouched by mass tourism. The old village has narrow winding roads with old whitewashed houses covered in bougainvillea. It is famous for it’s great number and variety of restaurants which offer some of the best dining in Turkey. You can eat on one of the many rooftops, watching the twinkling lights around the bay or have a romantic dinner at one of the harbour restaurants. You will be spoilt for choice.
There are quality speciality shops, several well-stocked supermarkets and a market every Thursday. The village has its own beach and there are several lovely beaches within a few kilometres of Kalkan.
